Dave Key and YouMail
Show #76 Listen (49:35) Download
YouMail is a patented voice messaging application for cell phones that allows users to record unique voicemail greetings for missed calls, based on caller ID. With YouMail you can create quirky voice greetings for friends and family and a more professional greeting for work related calls.
Coined 'Ditchmail' by a few female members of an early focus group, another feature allows users to record a custom greeting that hangs up on a caller after the greeting is played, preventing an unwanted caller from leaving a message.
My guest Dave Key is the new General Manager for YouMail. It's being spun out of Zeacom Group where Dave's been Chairman. Will YouMail be the break away product that many think? Blogger Oliver Starr on MobileCrunch.com, comments, 'It seems quite ingenious and refreshingly unique, useful, highly viral and very likely to be a runaway success.' You decide, YouMail.

David Key's interview needs to go the Frank Peters Hall of Fame! It is the best one yet. YouMail is the real deal and a very big opportunity due to the lack of carrier innovation. This service is a breakthrough innovation that will change the way you look at voicemail forever. GOOG or YHOO will have to make a service like this core to their business in the next 2 years when they get to 1M+ users.
