Jim Armstrong, Clearstone Venture Partners
Show #92 Listen (48:38) Download
Jim Armstrong of Clearstone Venture Partners offers up many pearls of wisdom for entrepreneurs and angel investors. "All early stage and all big leadership positions," Jim describes the firm, "learning to love to take risk."
"Get on the balance sheet" and "entrepreneurs who have seen the movie," Jim has so many pertinent comments. During the interview I pop-off with a reference to H.W. Brands' book on the California gold rush, The Age of Gold: The California Gold Rush and the New American Dream, where the author describes those times as the first time in history when an 'entrepreneur' isn't tarnished for life because of a business failure. From then on I let Jim do the talking.

Comments
Frank,
Thanks for the interview with Jim Armstrong. I enjoyed his insights regarding risks, niche-positions, big ideas, & the individual touch in communicating.
His philosophy on learning reminds me of something my Grandfather passed on to me: "Experience is the best teacher, especially when it is somebody else's experience!"
Thanks again for the interview.
Cordially,
Norman L. Beberman
