Irvine Mayor Beth Krom
Show #109 Listen (40:30) Download
From its beginnings as a master planned community surrounding UC Irvine, the city continues to prosper. Do we locals take Irvine for granted? You wouldn't if you grew up in Buffalo, NY, as Beth Krom did. Irvine has the first green building ordinance in Orange County, the first curb-side recycling program; it's building the Great Park, too.

Hello Frank, I just wanted to let you know that I've nearly finished listening to almost all of your podcasts since discovering you a few months ago. I have really enjoyed them. I am a County Commissioner in a small county
in Pennsylvania and have my own technology business on the side (I was a computer science major in college in the 80's). When I saw that you had interviewed the Mayor of Irvine, I actually thought that, despite my interest in government, that podcast probably wouldn't be very
interesting. I listened anyway and found it to be as interesting as the other podcasts that deal more directly with technology and business.
Keep up the great work! It's nice to have just a bit of contact with Silicon Valley from right here in rural Pennsylvania.
